Here goes nothing ... Heather :-)  There appeared to be some interest in following my journey over the next year so today we start the blog. 


After 6 years of running and 5 previous marathons I finally qualified for Boston at the 2012 Shamrock Marathon in Virginia Beach ... by a whopping 7 seconds.  My finishing time was 3:44:53 and I had to finish in 3:45:00. Hopefully it will be enough to actually get me in when it's time to register on September 10th.
